Breaking news
They said YES!
Anna and Jan are officially married. Witnesses confirm, guests are in tears, and an uncle is already warming up by the dance floor.
The moment the whole family (and the photographer) was waiting for. Photo: newsroom archive
It is official: after years of arguing over the remote, hundreds of shared episodes and one unforgettable trip to a furniture store, Anna and Jan have decided to carry on together — officially, and for good.
The ceremony was an emotional affair. Unconfirmed reports say the tissues ran out in minute three, and the mother of the bride, who had announced she would "not cry this time", held out until the vows.
This newspaper can confirm that both rings arrived intact and that the groom got every name right. The best man kept his cool, although he later admitted he was "sweating a little".
Tonight, the dance floor is open. Fair warning: the aunts are in top form.

Investigation
How it all began
From the first glance to the first dance: the events reconstructed from witness statements.
Spring 2019
The first meeting
A friend’s birthday and one chair too few. Jan gave up his seat. Anna says it was a tactic; Jan says it was a reflex.
Summer 2019
The first date
A coffee that ended up on a pair of trousers. They met again anyway, which this newspaper considers the first proof of true love.
2021
Moving in
The first crisis: which way the toilet roll hangs. Settled by compromise — everyone hangs it their own way.
2025
The proposal
In the mountains, at sunset. The ring spent a few seconds in the dog’s mouth, but this story has a happy ending.

The wedding
And this is where you come in. Today we all write the next chapter together.
The invitations went out. There was no turning back.
Rings: two of them, sizes confirmed.
Facts and myths
MYTH: Jan made the first move.
FACT: Anna made it two weeks earlier; nobody noticed.
MYTH: they never argue.
FACT: they only argue about who loves whom more.

The Wedding TimesInterview with the coupleJune 19, 2027
The big interview
"Choosing the cake took longer than the rings"
The couple on love, compromise and who is really in charge of the remote.
A toast to the newlyweds — and to the guests’ patience during the group photo.
"Every aunt has an aunt."
Who said "I love you" first?
Anna: I did. Jan: But I thought it first.
What was the hardest part of the planning?
The guest list. Every aunt has an aunt, and every aunt’s aunt has a cousin you cannot leave out.
Who cooks at home?
Jan cooks and Anna seasons. That is what a marriage compromise looks like.
Your other half’s biggest flaw?
After long deliberation: none. Please do not follow up, we are at a wedding.
Where do you see yourselves in ten years?
Right where we are today — on the dance floor. Maybe a little slower.
Advice for couples who are still planning?
Make a to-do list. Then cross out half of it — it will be beautiful anyway.
What do you wish your guests tonight?
Comfortable shoes, full plates, and nobody asking anybody "so when is it your turn?".

People
The rescue team
Without them there would be no wedding today. And certainly not one that started on time.
The wedding party on duty. Rings: secured.
Maid of honour: Kate
Duties: hold the bouquet, hold her nerve and hold the bride upright. Her handbag contains a needle, thread, plasters, safety pins and a contingency plan for everything.
Best man: Ben
Duties: rings, envelopes, speech. He admits he checked his pocket for the rings every four minutes. He rehearsed the speech in front of the mirror and the cat. The cat was not impressed.
Who’s who: a cheat sheet for guests
The bride’s parents
the ones in tears
The groom’s parents
the ones in slightly quieter tears
Grandma Irene
queen of the dance floor since 1968
Uncle Dave
knows every song, but only the chorus
Aunt Linda
will definitely ask about grandchildren
Cousin Jake
amateur DJ, please do not give him the microphone
Thank you, Mum and Dad
For your patience, your support, every "are you two actually eating?" phone call, and for being here to celebrate with us today.

What to put in a wedding newspaper
A good wedding newspaper mixes three things: the couple’s story, information for guests, and something to do at the table. The generator has all three, and you can switch off or reorder any page.
A front page with your title, date and headline. The contents list builds itself.
Your love story — a timeline from the first meeting to the wedding, plus "facts and myths".
An interview with the couple — seven questions guests actually want answered.
Before they met — childhood photos and a "which one of them?" quiz.
The schedule and menu — so nobody has to ask when the cake is.
The wedding party and a who’s-who — handy when two families meet for the first time.
A wedding horoscope, crossword, word search and wedding bingo — for the time between courses.
Classified ads, including a mock obituary for single life.
A songbook, a kids’ corner with a colouring page and a maze (more in our wedding colouring pages), and a thank-you page with a QR code for your photo gallery.
How to print a wedding newspaper
At home: click "Print or save as PDF", choose A4, margins "none", scale 100% and background graphics on. Chrome and Edge print it best. For a print shop, send a PDF — same button, with "Save as PDF" as the printer.
A newspaper folded like a real broadsheet is made from A3 sheets folded in half, so the page count must be a multiple of 4: 8, 12 or 16. With 14 pages, switch two off — the generator shows how many pages will print.
The QR code on the back page
The back page has a QR code — put your photo gallery’s address under it and guests upload straight from their phones. If you still need somewhere for that gallery, calm.weddinggives guests one code for the seating plan, the running order and a shared gallery. More on printing codes in the wedding QR code guide, and ideas for the rest of the evening inwedding entertainment ideas.
Frequently asked questions
Is the wedding newspaper generator really free?
Yes. All 14 pages, four styles, your own photos and unlimited printing, with no watermark and no account.
Do our photos get uploaded to your server?
No. Your texts and photos stay in your browser, on your device. Closing the tab does not delete them — come back on the same computer and your newspaper is still there.
How do I save the wedding newspaper as a PDF?
Click "Print or save as PDF" and pick "Save as PDF" as the printer. Choose A4, margins "none" and background graphics on. Any print shop will accept that file.
What paper should I print a wedding newspaper on?
At home, ordinary 80–100 gsm paper is fine. At a print shop, 90–120 gsm uncoated or newsprint looks best. A newspaper folded from A3 sheets needs a page count that is a multiple of 4 — the generator tells you when it is not.
How many copies should we print?
Usually one per couple or family sitting together, plus a few spares — some always disappear into handbags as keepsakes. For 100 guests, 50–60 copies is typically enough.
Can I write my own crossword and word search?
Yes. Under the puzzles page, type your own secret word, answers and words — the grids lay themselves out, and the generator warns you if an answer does not fit the secret word.
